Adventurous Journey from Medical to Model





A medical student seeks a fun adventure that she can remember about her youth, decides to join Asian Boston Modeling Competition on October 23rd 2011. Hye min Yang, 25, is currently a graduate student at Harvard Medical School. She was born and raised in South Korea and moved to United States when she was fifteen. She graduated from Columbia University majoring in Biology and is now on her was to become a doctor. “I have been concentrated on academy my whole life, I thought it was the only time and chance to do something fun for myself before I get really serious about what I do,” she said. She had never been modeling or walked on a catwalk before. “It’s challenging walking in heels, I will try my best not to fall on stairs,” she smiles as she makes jokes.

Oct. 9, 2011- Asian Boston Magazine is getting ready for their second Asian Boston Modeling Competition in downtown Boston, held on Oct. 23rd 2011. At the rehearsal, the founder of Asian Boston Magazine Leo Anthony (in black hat) gives 32 models instructions about the competition. The winner gets a chance to join the final state modeling competition in Los Angeles next month. Oct. 16, 2011- Hye min yang, 25, is currently a graduate student at Harvard University to become a doctor. She is originally from South Korea, graduated high school in Virginia and Columbia University in New York. “I concentrated on academics all my life, I wanted to do something fun to remind me of my youth,” she said. She looks at herself in the mirror practicing her poses. As a person who never had any experiences in modeling before, she shows a lot of confidence. Oct, 18. 2011- Hye min Yang, 25, is meeting up with her classmate before her class to discuss her project at Harvard Medical school in Boston, MA. She is currently a graduate student to become a doctor. She is originally from South Korea and graduated from Columbia University in New York majoring in Biology. She plans to join Asian Boston Modeling Competition on Oct. 23rd 2011. “It is a lot more work than I thought. But getting dresses and heels are so much fun. Oct, 23. 2011- Hye min Yang, 25, is one of 32 models who attended Asian Boston Modeling Competition sponsored by Asian Boston Magazine in Boston, Massachusetts. More than 500 people came to see the competition in downtown Boston. She is currently studying at Harvard University to become a doctor and wanted to do something fun before she gets too serious about what she does. “This was the best experience I ever had in my life, even though I didn’t win I am satisfied,” she said. –Photo by Hyunah Jang-
